Koh Lanta’s Low Season officially runs from May to October. May still has great weather on Koh Lanta and booking a villa early in the month is a real bargain.
The biggest change that happens during low season is that the winds change direction by the end of May and come from the west direct onto Koh Lanta’s beaches. This means that there can be debris brought onto the beach by the sea, and that when there are tropical storms the rain drives against the beaches. Therefore, renting a villa which is built next to the beach or on the side of cliffs may not be a perfect holiday choice, particularly if there is a big downpour.
