Long Beach (known in Thai as Phra Ae) is very long area and is separated in two parts. It’s one of Lanta’s most popular beaches and so there is a wide variety of places to eat here. Here’s our pick of the best Long Beach restaurants and bars.

Northern Long Beach Places To Eat
In the North, right on the beachfront and enjoying beautiful views direct over the ocean, you will find Suza Hut, which is one of the best decorated beach restaurants (and also has good real coffee). There’s also Thai Cat, offering a full range of Thai food with warm and friendly staff, and Funky Fish. They’re all great places to kick back and have a leisurely meal or snacks with some cold drinks. A long time favourite is Somewhere Else, a big round building set back from the beach that has a huge, cheap menu of lots of different Thai food and flavors.
SeaSky Restaurant, located in the Layana Resort, is more upmarket and great for special occasions. Please note: the Layana is an adults-only resort. Lym’s Bar & Restaurant offers cheap good food.
Most of the eating action for Long Beach is back up on the road. On the road side of northern Long Beach there is a small cluster of restaurants, with Mr Greens (open very late) and my favorite Krua Kritsana all offering cheap Thai food.
Across the road from the bank of Thai restaurants is The Tavern and K. Himalaya Indian Restaurant Lanta serving up good Indian food, if you would like a break from Thai.
Southern Long Beach Places To Eat
Further south along the road, after the Lanta Casuarina Resort, there is a strip of restaurants and bars. Like Saladan, it is the most populated area Lanta has to offer. The Irish Embassy, with two great owners, will make any night a fun night. Then there is May’s Kitchen, offering good Thai food and small bar.

Further along, you will find the The Living Room Cafe and Restaurant, which is a beautiful building sitting back in its own garden area and offering a mix of Thai food, pasta, steaks, breakfasts good coffee and mouth watering Gelato ice cream. Then it’s the Your Style Fashion and Drinks, which is open early for breakfast and late for drinks. A great place to hang out anytime of the day where you can also follow on to The Galaxy Restaurant and Bar, which enjoys a weekly party and open late at night.
If you’re looking for simple Thai food, try restaurants like Sweet and Sour or Papaya Restaurant. Then there is Rann Restaurant with its cozy setting, offering some great Thai and seafood dishes, and somehow seating 150 guests. It is a little bit more expensive but the quality is well worth it. There is also a noodle stand with 30 baht chicken noodle soup, open late, which is a good snack place after a party.

Enjoy the Bajen Steak House and Pizzeria, offering international cuisine like pizza, pasta and steaks with mini golf behind, which is great for the kids (and adults). The Beach Comber Restaurant offers the best authentic Tex-Mex dishes in a nice garden area facing the Andaman Sea. There’s also Tamarind, Papaya Restaurant, Sweet and Sour – which also host live music – and the cool, air-con Coffee Cup Club. The legendary Mr. Wee Pizzeria is also found along this road, with more outside dining, and Linda’s Restaurant and Lounge.
