Glai Talay Villa in more details:
Glai Talay Villas loosely translated as Close to the beach villas. The Villa complex comprising of 4 villas built around the shared swimming pool. Two villas sit on each side of the pool and although adjacent they do have a separation in between them keeping them peaceful inside. The villas are one storey and all rooms are built on the ground level.
All the villas enjoy air con in every room and they are set out the same with decor and furnishings. From the outside you enter into the open plan lounge area, dining and kitchen. Two double bedrooms are located at the back of the villa and both bedrooms have ensuite facilities. one of the bedrooms has an option to sleep 3 persons with the 3rd person sleeping on a half day bed which allows the maximum of 5 guests per villa.
Outside the villa you can relax in your own shaded terrace area, this includes a wooden table and seating for outside dining. Plastic chairs are also available which can be used near the pool also. The pool in the middle has a shallow end perfect for small children and offers umbrellas to protect from the sun. Their is also an outdoor shower next to the pool. The Glai Talay villa sits in its own private grounds with a high wall surrounding the grounds keeping the secluded and private. These villas are a great option couples and friends, families and large groups wanting to be close to each other.

Open Plan Lounge Area
When entering the Glai Talay villa you will feel an immediate calming effect due to the colour scheme and decorations an oasis of peace and tranquility.
There is one way in and out for the villas with the glass sliding doors. The main seating and sofa are set along one way near the aircon unit. Another sofa is set opposite the T.V which is positioned on the wall. The lounge area is open plan with the kitchen and dining area.
Security and safety
For added security every window has an additional locking system which can not be opened from the outside. In case of power cuts on the Island which sometimes happens the owners have installed a battery operated lighting system which can be moved between rooms and comes on instantly. Fire extinguishers are also installed.
Open Plan Kitchen and Dining Area
The open plan kitchen and dining room sit at the back of the villa. Whilst preparing food or snacks their is a large window which illuminates the area. The Kitchen has all mod cons for a comfortable stay which include Kettle, toaster, grounded coffee maker, fridge freezer, 2 induction cooking plates, microwave oven, Kitchen and table with plenty of glass ware. The wooden dining table and chairs which seats 4 persons sits in the middle of the kitchen area.

At the back of the villa along the wall are two doors which connect two private bedrooms, both with ensuite facilities. The two seater sofa here sits in front of the wall mounted TV.
Bedroom One
Both double bed bedrooms are also set up the same. Air con, double beds, soft lighting and drawers next to the beds with large wooden wardrobe and large windows along one wall. The only difference is the size of the ensuite bathrooms.
Bedroom One Ensuite Bathroom
A wooden door connects the bedroom to the ensuite bathroom. The bathroom has hot water rain shower with a tiled wall separating it from the toilet. This allows you to shower and keep the area dry. Along the other wall is a wash basin and over head mirror.

Bedroom Two
The second bedroom has double bed, Air con, soft lighting and drawers next to the beds with large wooden wardrobe and large windows along one wall. Exactly the same set up as the first bedroom.
Bedroom Two Ensuite Bathroom
The only difference with bedrooms are the ensuite bathrooms. The bathroom connected with this room is smaller in size and has a sliding door. The bathroom has everything hot water shower, wash basin and toilet. traveling with kids this room may be there room.
Where Is Long Beach Located?
As Long Beach is so near to Saladan and the point of arrival and exit from the island, it’s also one of Koh Lanta’s most popular beaches.
As well as the restaurants and resorts on Long Beach itself, there are also many places to eat and stay behind Long beach on the main road, giving you even more options within walking distance. How to get to the Glai Talay Villa
If you are arriving at Krabi Airport or Phuket Airport booking an Express Transfer will allow you to transfer quickly, safely and direct. Our driver will be waiting for you upon arrival at the arrivals gate with your name on a plaque then its a combination of minivan and speedboat travel direct to the villa. If you arrive very late at night the speedboat may not be operating, how ever you can normally still arrive on Koh Lanta the same day by using the Private Minivan service.
If you are already in Thailand you can also be picked up from your hotel, with a time that suits you best and safely transferred directly to the Villa by using the Express Transfers from popular areas like Ao Nang, Krabi Town, or Phuket these areas are also serviced by using the Private minivan.

Who Will We Meet Upon Arrival And What Happens On Departure
Glai Talay Villa is owned and managed by Serge and Pat who will meet you upon arrival, give you the keys and show you around the villa. They have both lived on Koh Lanta for years and will be happy to offer their expert first hand knowledge and also be happy to help and advise you with any problems you encounter whilst you stay.
Serge and Pat can also help you organise motorbike and car rentals on the island. Then on the day of departure they will come to inspect the villa for any damage and refund your deposit and also to say goodbye. Don’t forget to book an Express Transfer for your return to Krabi Airport or to any other close Thailand destination.

What Is Nearby To This Villa
Glai Talay Villa is well positioned in Phra Ae’s main shopping and eating area. Glai Talay Villa is located 80 metres from Long Beach which should take you no more than 5 minutes walk. This part of long beach is more quieter than the north but still enjoys some nice beach restaurants and very chilled out beach bars. How ever the Glai Talay Villa really benefits from being so close to many amenities which are situated along the road side. To go to the main road is only a 70 meter walk very easy for families with strollers.

Food And Drink
On the main road you will be able to enjoy morning coffee in the popular French bakery Faim De Loup with fresh breads and pastries. Turning left the Coffee Club air conditioned cafe. If your looking for simple Thai Food turn left along the road 50 to 200 meters walk you will find restaurants like Sweet and Sour, Papaya Restaurant, Country Loas is an Isan place offering spicy Som Tam ( Papaya Salad ) and also mouth watering Nuer Nam Tok.
This area is not short of any bars for a beer or cocktail. Walk left along the road and you can stagger between the Sari Club, Bajen Sports Bar, Pattys Secret Garden and Galaxy Bar offering different party nights in the week. Then a little further you have the only fun club on the Island Funky Monkey, and many more bars next to each other like Shooters, The Irish Embassy which is a great atmosphere and good quality beers and food. There is also the Korner bar offering a party on a Saturday night which is close to the beach.
Two bars which are set in very nice setting along the beach can be found close to the 7 Eleven shop look out for the Sanctuary and the Mad Bull Beach bar at Lanta Castaway Resort which offers great cocktails.

How to travel around the island from the villa
You will find many enjoyable things close to the Villa with in easy walking distance. Koh Lanta itself is around 35 km long so if you want to explore other beaches and Lanta Old Town you can rent a car or motorbike. You can hire them on daily or weekly basis Serge and Pat the villa manager will be happy to help and organise these rentals for you when you arrive on Koh Lanta.
If you are not comfortable with a bike or car then you can easily travel back and forth on the island by using the local Tuk Tuk drivers. These can be a lot of fun and the locals with there friendly manner will entertain you as they go. How ever even after negotiating a good price this option does start to become expensive as each ride is charged per person. To find a taxi driver just wait next to the road and they will stop instantly. When you are in Saladan the main Koh Lanta Shopping area, if you walk out of the centre there are many queing up to take you home. How ever later at night this service can become sparse and getting home from a party at 3am can become a challenge.
