Although advertised as Open All Year, some of the popular restaurants on Lanta will close for a week or two especially if there is not a lot of guests on the island. The owners and staff go on vacation or simply close for renovations. Normally a board is placed in front of the restaurant confirming they will open again on a certain date.
All of the beach restaurants will close from May until October due to the winds coming from the sea onto the beach. Some of the larger resorts will also reduce their in-house restaurants and a handful of small resorts will remain open but they may close the kitchens due to no staff.
