Haad Son is an amazingly quiet, peaceful and undeveloped beach on Koh Phangan’s western coast. With just one resort, the entire 300 metre beach is one of the island’s least visited areas, receiving little in the way of visitors other than guests at the nearby Haad Son Resort.

The sand on Haad Son is bright and clean, with a variety of palm trees and jungle surrounding the beach. Like other beaches on Koh Phangan’s west coast, Haad Son has shallow water and a coral reef just off the shore that make it less than ideal for swimming during low tide.
Wait until high tide, however, and swimming out to the tropical reef offers access to a colourful variety of tropical fish. Haad Son is most popular with couples and families, many of whom opt for the beach because of its quiet atmosphere and lack of development.
Haad Son’s biggest appeal is its natural beauty. The entire beach is privately owned and has just one hotel — the quiet and secluded Haad Son Resort. Aside from occasional visitors from nearby Haad Yao, Haad Son is extremely uncrowded and offers a great deal of privacy.
If you’re searching for a beach on Koh Phangan that truly defines the term “unspoilt”, Haad Son is an excellent choice. With very little to do other than relax and enjoy the water and white sand, Haad Son is the perfect place to escape civilisation and truly unwind.
