Add a selection of great cafés and eateries into the mix and you’ll rarely be hungry – or far from food, for that matter – during your time on Koh Lipe. Some of the island’s best restaurants and cafés are listed below.
Koh Lipe Cafés and Delicatessens
Elephant Coffee House & Bar
Elephant Coffee House & Bar is a Koh Lipe institution. Elephant serves excellent sandwiches and burgers with tasty, fresh and strong coffee, as well as a selection of breakfast dishes and desserts. Live music and great main courses make it worth returning after the sun sets.
Harmony Bakery, located inside Harmony Resort, is a small bakery offering Thai food, fresh fruit shakes and coffee a short walk from Walking Street. As well as café food and Thai dishes, there are also homemade pizzas available.
Located on quiet and peaceful Sunset Beach, Kafair Hut is a small bakery, restaurant and café that serves breakfast meals, excellent sandwiches and a selection of tasty shakes made using fresh fruit.
Cafe Lipe is a Thai restaurant and café on Pattaya Beach that serves great coffee and breakfast dishes. Sheltered and shaded by nearby trees, Cafe Lipe is a great place to escape the midday and afternoon sun on Pattaya Beach.
As its name suggests, Lipe Sandwiches specialises in great sandwiches using freshly prepared baguettes. Located on Walking Street, it also serves Australian beef burgers, Western breakfast dishes and salads.
Koh Lipe Thai Food
Located on Walking Street, Nee Papaya is a popular Thai restaurant that’s famous for its BBQ seafood. The menu includes a wide range of classic Thai curries, salads and fried noodle and rice dishes. Arrive early if you’re visiting for dinner during high season, as it can get crowded.
From curries and seafood to fried noodles and fruit shakes, Mam Papaya is a Thai restaurant on Walking Street that serves a huge selection of popular dishes. The restaurant opens early and is a convenient place to get breakfast if you’re staying close to Walking Street.
Tonkow Restaurant is a small Thai restaurant on Walking Street. Although it’s small and simple in appearance, Tonkow offers a great range of popular Thai dishes at reasonable prices, as well as the usual selection of coffee and beer.
Koh Lipe Seafood
Rak-Lay is a popular seafood restaurant located on Walking Street, a brief stroll from Pattaya Beach. The restaurant is famous for its BBQ seafood but also offers a great selection of Thai dishes, from Southern Thai curries to quick and easy cuisine.
Bung Roon Halal Food
Bung Roon Halal Food is a seafood BBQ restaurant located close to Pattaya Beach. As the sun sets, the restaurant’s live band plays a mix of Western songs and Thai pop while diners enjoy a great selection of freshly prepared seafood dishes.
Koh Lipe Western Food
The Cove is an upmarket Western restaurant located inside Idyllic Concept Resort on Sunrise Beach. The menu offers a selection of Western and Thai dishes, with a great wine list that has something to match every dish.
La Luna Italian Restaurant
La Luna is one of several good Italian restaurants on Koh Lipe. Located just off Walking Street, the restaurant serves excellent homemade pizza and pasta, as well as a selection of excellent Italian desserts at reasonable prices.
Capriccio is an upmarket Italian restaurant near the island’s Walking Street. As well as the usual Italian dishes, Capriccio serves excellent beef carpaccio dishes and some of the best steaks on Koh Lipe.
OMG! Sports Bar and Restaurant
OMG! Sports Bar and Restaurant is one of Koh Lipe’s most popular Western restaurants. Best known for its humongous steaks, OMG! also serves a great selection of Western and Thai food, usually accompanied by live football on the TV.
Aroy (Mexican Restaurant)
Aroy is a small Mexican restaurant on Walking Street that serves great nachos, burritos, fajitas and other Mexican favourites. Portions are fairly small and big eaters may need two to feel fully satisfied, but reasonable prices mean ordering extra is rarely an issue.
Limoncello, the popular Italian restaurant from Bangkok, also has a branch on Koh Lipe. High quality pizzas and homemade pasta are the stars of the show here, along with a good selection of mains and a reasonably extensive wine list.
Located off Walking Street, Bombay is an Indian restaurant that serves excellent curries, naan and other Indian dishes. The restaurant imports many of its spices directly from India to ensure an authentic taste.
