Full-on partying til the sun comes up is the norm on Koh Phi Phi, making the Koh Phi Phi nightlife famous as a non-stop, year-round event – every day is party day on Koh Phi Phi
If you are around Tonsai Village the nightlife is hectic. Koh Phi Phi is on the young backpacker circuit with a vengeance.
A short nocturnal trip around that area shows you that what young backpackers like to do is drink cheap alcohol out of luridly coloured buckets and make a lot of noise in competition with the blaring sound systems. It is very much like Aya Napa in Greece or Daytona Beach in Florida.
If you want to party with adolescents then you will love it. If you want a more peaceful holiday head away from Loh Dalum and Tonsai Bay. Long Beach is the nearest more relaxed beach and it is also very beautiful.
Conversely, if you want to be in the thick of the action, there are numerous guesthouses and hotels around Tonsai. View Tonsai Bay hotels and guesthouses, along with previous guest reviews so you can get a good idea of whether it’s a non-stop party zone or if you will actually get some sleep when you finally crash.
Many bars offer similar kinds of things mostly with fire shows. Bars open late although often the music is turned off at around 2am. There are any number of beach bars around Loh Dalum and Tonsai Bay. Apache Bar is a multi-story place overlooking Tonsai. Carlitos Bar offers a relaxed brew right on the beach. Carpe Diem is another beachfront chill out bar as is Deaf Gecko – The Deco Bar also has its fans. It is situated above Phi Phi Scuba Dive Center on the main road from pier.
Ibiza bar is a bopping venue with live music and yet more fire shows. The original Hippies Bar was destroyed by the Tsunami, but it has re emerged in nearly the same locations and is a good place for cocktails. The huge Reggae Bar right in the centre of Tonsai village is a popular place that stages mock Muay Thai fights. You too can get into the ring if you are drunk enough. Rolling Stoned Bar is one of the best places for live music with really serious musicians drafted in. They also have a number of pool tables and it is deservedly one of the most popular bars on Phi Phi.
