Flights To Krabi
Krabi International Airport (KBV) is about 15 km from the centre of town. Thai Airways and Air Asia fly daily direct to and from Bangkok. Bangkok Airways operate flights to Koh Samui. Air Asia has daily flights to/from KL in Malysia. Tiger Airways flies to and from Singapore four times a week.
There is an air conditioned airport bus service from the airport to Krabi Town, Ao Nang and Noppharat Thara Beach. Buses to all destinations meet all flight arrivals.
Songthaews also run from Krabi Town to the airport. Going to the airport, they will drop you at the departure terminal. If you want to catch one from the airport you have to walk out and catch them along Highway 4 to Krabi, which is really not worth the bother. You are better off taking the minibus.
Trains To Krabi Town
Krabi Town does not have a railway station. Most travelers head to Pun Phin near Surat Thani by bus from Krabi’s bus terminal at Taladkao and take the train from there. It is about 3 hours from Krabi to Surat Thani.
Buses To Krabi Town
From Bangkok buses depart to Krabi from Bangkok’s Southern Bus Terminal on the west side of the Chao Phraya River. The journey takes about 12 hours. In Krabi, buses arrive/depart from the bus terminal at Taladkao, about 5km north of town. Buses also run to all regional destinations from the same place. White-coloured songthaews also run from Krabi Town to Ao Nang and Noppharat Thara Beach. They run every ten minutes during the day and every 30 minutes after 6.00pm. In Krabi, songthaews depart from in front of the 7-Eleven on Maharat Road.
Getting To Krabi Town By Car
Krabi is located just off them main north-south Highway 4. It is 946km from Bangkok and, 180km from Phuket (although only 70km by boat). There are a range of car rental outfits inside the arrivals terminal at the airport renting out a range of vehicles with pickup trucks being the cheapest.

Ferries run to and from Koh Phi Phi every day. The normal passenger ferry does not depart from the pier in the centre of town anymore, but from a new passenger pier about 3km outside Krabi.

Getting Around Krabi Town
To get around you can take songthaews, taxis or motorcycle taxis. The songteows stop and pick up opposite two hundred metres up from from the central pier. There is also a stop directly opposite the police station at Maharaj Road Soi 7. Blue vehicles head in the direction of Tesco Lotus and the airport and brown ones go to the bus station. Blue with white, yellow or red stripes go to the airport. White songteows go to Ao Nang.
