Koh Lanta Hotels Children Stay For Free Policy
In many Koh Lanta resorts children under a certain age are allowed to stay for free if they stay in the parents bed. Usually the age is 2 years old. If you look at the hotels listed below, the children go free policy is stated under each hotel picture.
if the child is over 4 years old, then they will need an extra bed placed in the room for an extra cost, but it will still be a lot cheaper than booking a second room. It’s also possible to request a baby cot for an extra cost too.
Saladan is the main center where you can enjoy plenty of shopping and amazing seafood restaurants. It is in the north of Koh Lanta where the ferries arrive. Saladan does have a small beach area and although the beach is not one of Koh Lanta’s main beaches it is a very nice quiet place to stay with incredible views of the mainland.
Khlong Dao Beach stretches 3 kilometers long and is the first beach along Koh Lanta and due to this is the most developed. The beach is the most popular with families due to being a sheltered bay area with very shallow waters to enjoy. It also provides many restaurants and bars along the beach and roadside.
Long Beach is the longest beach on Koh Lanta stretching for 5 kilometers and has many beach bars and restaurants scattered along the beach. The beach gently slopes towards the sea where the water goes deep very quickly. A perfect place to swim on a hot day.
Khlong Khong Beach is a very rocky beach. During high tide Khlong Khong’s beach and the colour of the water are amazing, however whilst it is low tide many rocks appear in many places making it not good for swimming. On the upside if you are with a family it is a very good place to look for small fish and crabs left behind in the rock pools. If you stay here make sure your resort has a pool or you can book a Khlong Khong private villa, each of which has a swimming pool.
Khlong Nin Beach is around 15 km or a half hour drive from the main village of Saladan. The fine white sandy beach which is good for swimming stretches for several kilometres and maintains a tranquil, relaxed, laid back atmosphere. This beach has many restaurants and bars along the beach front and the main shopping area is built on flat ground making it easy for walking with strollers.
Kantiang Bay is located towards the southern end of Koh Lanta, about a 45 minute drive from Saladan Village. It’s a much quieter, more secluded beach than Khlong Dao or Long Beach and boasts some of Koh Lanta’s best, soft golden sand which stretches for nearly 2 kilometres.
