Koh Lanta has a good range of hotels that are family friendly. Some hotels include facilities like children’s swimming pool, play areas, special high chairs in the restaurants, easy access for strollers, baby sitting services and of course Thai staff – Thai people absolutely love Children.
The only problem is many Koh Lanta hotels have a policy of only allowing 1 child to sleep in a room. Below we have listed the best Koh Lanta hotels for families of four that have rooms big enough to sleep a family of 2 adults and 2 kids together.
Saladan is the main center where you can enjoy plenty of shopping and amazing seafood restaurants. It is in the North of Koh Lanta where the ferries arrive. Saladan does have a small beach area and although the beach is not one of Koh Lantas main beaches it is a very nice quiet place to stay with incredible views of the mainland.

Khlong Dao Beach stretches 3 kilometers long and is the first beach along Koh Lanta and due to this is the most developed. The beach is the most popular with families due to being a sheltered bay area with very shallow waters to enjoy. It also provides many restaurants and bars along the beach and roadside.
Long Beach is the longest beach on Koh Lanta stretching for 5 kilometers and has many beach bars and restaurants scattered along the beach. The beach gently slopes towards the sea where the water goes deep very quickly. A perfect place to swim on a hot day.
Khlong Khong Beach is a very rocky beach. During high tide Khlong Khong’s beach and the colour of the water are amazing, however whilst it is low tide many rocks appear in many places making it not good for swimming. On the upside if you are with a family it is a very good place to look for small fish and crabs left behind in the rock pools. If you stay here make sure your resort has a pool or you can book a Khlong Khong private villa, each of which has a swimming pool.

Kantiang Bay is located towards the southern end of Koh Lanta, about a 45 minute drive from Saladan Village. It’s a much quieter, more secluded beach than Khlong Dao or Long Beach and boasts some of Koh Lanta’s best soft golden sand which stretches for nearly 2 kilometers.
