Koh Lanta does not have big shopping malls – there are no large chain stores like Tesco’s, Wal Mart or Boots, which is one of the reasons why the island is so peaceful. Dotted along Koh Lanta’s beaches you will find 24 hour convenience stores called 7-Eleven. Here you can buy essential baby items and breakfast cereals, cheese, yogurts, snacks, hot dogs, chocolate, ice creams, batteries for toys, crisps, hats for the sun, they really do have a selection of everything.
Saladan
Saladan is the main village on Koh Lanta where the ferry and car ferry arrives. It has two of the largest well stocked shops on the island. It also has a 24 hour 7-Eleven shop which is well stocked.
Lanta Mart is the the biggest shop on Koh Lanta and the nearest the island has to a supermarket. It has all the kids essential items. Here you can also buy coffee, pasta, soups, breads, salami, salmon as well as juices, fine wines, beers and spirits for the adults.
Thai Brand is located just outside Saladan and also stocks a wide range of baby goods buts its no match for the Lanta Mart shop.
Khlong Dao
Traveling away from Saladan near Ocean View Resort there are 3 minimart shops positioned together. They sit on the opposite side from the sea. The minimarts are called Anong, Aleena and Dimon and stock essential baby items like Pampers, baby wipes, powders and cereals. Khlong Dao also has two 7-Eleven shops which are open 24 hours.
Phra Ae – Long Beach
Long beach has a lot of restaurants and bars but not a lot of minimarts. 555 minimart is located in Phra Ae close to the Lanta Castaway Resort. This stocks baby essential products and 75 meters away is a 7-Eleven shop open 24 hours which probably has a better choice.
Khlong Khong
Khlong Khong Beach has two convenience stores, one at either end of the beach area. Fresh Mart shop is open until around 21:00 – it’s the first shop you will see when entering Khlong Khong. Further down the road on the right is a 7-Eleven shop which is open 24 hours.
Khlong Nin
Khlong Nin is a great place for families as it’s all flat ground, making it perfect for pushing baby strollers along the road that runs parallel to the beach. In the heart of Khlong Nin you will find Lanta Family Mart stocked with basic baby supplies like Pampers, baby wipes and powders. If you walk to the junction and turn left heading to Saladan you will find two 7-Eleven shops open 24 hours. One is on the left around 100 meters from the junction and the other is opposite the Rawi Warin Resort.
Kantiang Bay
Kantiang Bay also has one 7-Eleven shop open 24 hours a day. Due to its location not many shops have been developed in this area yet.

Wherever you stay it’s likely you visit Saladan Village, so it’s best to stock up on everything you need for your baby and children in Lanta Mart and Thai Brand while you’re there.
