If you’re not looking for a resort but something smaller and more personal Koh Lanta offers many guesthouses. These are generally concrete structured buildings offering slighty cheaper and more relaxed environments then large hotels and resorts. In the rooms they offer a very high standard of facilities.
Two of the guest houses are a little bit different and offer any traveler a unique stay on Koh Lanta.
BOHO Hostel (formerly Sincere Guesthouse) which is based in Saladan, the main shopping district and close to the ferries, offers a guesthouse built entirely above the sea on wooden stilts.
Sriraya guesthouse is also built on stilts above the sea but is located in Lanta Old Town which offers a very quiet experience in a small seaside village. There’s no beach at Lanta Old Town so you’d need to drive over to Klong Nin for sea and sand.
