Khao Sok National Park is one of the most beautiful national parks in Thailand. Due to its Limestone Mountains (the highest peak to reside in the park measures at 961m above sea level) and biological diversity. The park has a total area of 738.74 square kilometres and includes some amazing attractions – an abundance of nature trails, mysterious caves, numerous waterfalls which allow kayaking, white water rafting along some rivers and Ratchaprapa Dam, which was built to provide hydro-electricity for Surat Thani. The dam lake is 65km long and has over 100 islands dotted in this massive body of water.
Best Time To Visit Khao Sok
The best time to visit the Khao Sok Park is December to April with rain beginning in late April until late December. Heaviest rain is during May to November.
There are no fancy up market hotels in Khao Sok. It is a place for real nature lovers offering a unique experience. You will only find rustic accommodation built in the lanscape and surrounding areas helping protect the natural beauty. The accommodation in this area is very cheap offering some dramatic views you won’t be able to see anywhere else.
