The Islands around Ao Nang are becoming more increasingly popular. This has led to better daily travel services and if you depart from Ao Nang to Koh Yao or Koh Yao to Ao Nang there is a ferry service offering this route all year round.
First you will have to travel by from your Ao Nang Resort to Ao Thalane pier which is the main pier connecting the Krabi mainland to Koh Yao. The ferry boats are traditional Thai wooden boats with a large cabin in case of bad weather – they ferry not only passengers to and from Koh Yao but also goods.
