Thailand normally has 3 season’s Hot Season, Cool Season and the Green Season (Rainy Season) but Thailand does not share the same weather pattern. On the west coast of Thailand, Koh Lanta, Phuket, Krabi the Rainy Season is different to the East Coast like Koh Samui, Koh Phagnan and Koh Tao.

Koh Lanta is a little unique. For many years it only claims to have 2 seasons. The Hot and Dry Season which lasts from November untill April and the Green Season which lasts from May till October. The Green season is basically the rainy season as the rains fall bringing all the trees and flowers back to life creating a lush setting. But don’t be fooled even in the Hot Season some showers may prevail.

The best time to visit Koh Lanta is between January and April. This is where your nearly guaranteed blue skies, flat calm sea’s and temperatures beyond 34 degrees it really is paradise. How ever one down fall is it can be still pretty expensive to travel.

If you really want to get away from the crowds the green season on Koh Lanta is perfect for you. It is cooler
It is cooler in these months and more comfortable to be in. The temperature never drops below 27 degrees which is still a nice temperature and when it does rain I still wear my shorts all day. Compare this to the high season where it is so hot and sticky that some days I take 5 showers just to cool off.
