Whilst on Holiday there is always the risk of some one getting ill and not feeling well or even being involved in a road accident. Although alot of Thai’s can speak very good English when there is a problem will they understand what you really want.

Lanta Police: Tel 075 668 192
You will very rarely see the police on Koh Lanta. Although they are based in each little village area with smaller substations there presence is rarely seen. In the more rural areas you will find the Police English is not as good or when you arrive in the eveing you may find they are closed. If you have any problems the best place to go is Saladan they have a main police station there which is on the main road to the car ferry.

Clinics and Hospital
There are 3 very good medical centers based on the Island and also one hospital. The medical centers are in Saladan, Phra Ae or Long Beach and also Khlong Nin. The hospital is located in the old town and from many places it is at least a 30 minute drive away. The hospiatl is the only place which is open 24hrs a day but because its an Island you will find not all emergency procedures can be done here and you may be required to go to Trang, Krabi or Phuket. The are also many pharmacies dotted around the island which will help with smaller aches and pains but for any emergency seeking the right help is very important. If you are in your hotel just go straight to reception they will normally drive you to the clinics or hospital.

Based just oustside Saladan main town Center open Mon – Fri 09:00 till 16:00

Monday to Friday 10:00 and 20:00
Saturday open 09:00 till 20:00
Sunday is closed.

Nida Clinic
This clinic is based in Khlong Nin at the main T junction. They are open 08:00 till 22:00

There is only one dentist on the Island which is based on the main road in Khlong Dao called Lanta Dente. Open Mon – Sat 09:00 till 22:00
