There are many ways to arrive on Koh Lanta in the peak season. Unfortunately tho in the green season which is May till October things are a little bit different.

The winds change direction in these months creating unpredictable large waves. Some days the ferry’s or speedboat operation’s can not operate due to the weather and the sea. Obviously Safety comes first.

Also with less tourism in these months some of the ferry’s between Koh Lanta and Phuket, Koh Phi Phi and Krabi will not operate. Some times when you arrive at the ferry terminal the boat may be cancelled beacuse they don’t have enough guests.

The best solution when planning ahead is to book a luxury minivan. These are stress free and will pick you up from many destiantions and hotels like Krabi Airport, Ao Nang, Krabi Town and Phuket and take you directly to your resort on Koh Lanta. No messing around with cancelled trips and wasting time trying to organise something last minute.

If you are travelling between October and April check out our page on Express Transfers. These use a combination of minivan and speedboat and cut out any waiting time on the car ferry’s. When you arrive you will have more time to enjoy your vacation whilst feeling not as tired from the travel.
