Sydney to Koh Lanta is relatively straightforward – fly with THAI Airlines from Sydney to Krabi Airport via Bangkok. You will have to change planes at Bangkok but your luggage will get sent direct from Sydney to Krabi Airport.
Alternatively you can fly from Sydney to Singapore and then get a flight with budget carrier Tiger Airways from Singapore to Krabi Airport. If you are staying over in Singapore, see our Very Quick Guide to Singapore for tips on what to do and where to stay.
You can also fly from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and then get a flight with AirAsia from Kuala Lumpur to Krabi Airport.
Another option would be to fly from Sydney to Bali and spend a few days there, before flying from Bali to Phuket with AirAsia. You could then get the ferry across to Koh Lanta or take the Phuket to Koh Lanta minivan transfer, although this is much longer than if you arrived into Krabi airport.
Check Skyscanner to find the cheapest flights between the airlines for specific dates.
Once you arrive at Krabi Airport, you can then get a Fast Speedboat Transfer from Krabi Airport to Koh Lanta or a Koh Lanta Minivan Transfer which takes you direct from Krabi Airport to your Koh Lanta hotel. You can also check hotel availability for your chosen dates.
