Nemo and Barracuda
Rob: Its always very hard writing a blog after seeing Whale Sharks as nothing seems to compare. So I thought how about going from the biggest fish I am likely to witness to one of my favourite fish and also some smaller baby fish.
The diving in April is very very good. Its heading to the low season so there is not as many guests traveling which makes for quieter dive sites. Its only the start of the season and end of the season you get quality like this. Koh Ha has recently had some outstanding visibility 30 / 40 meters plus. Diving around the Bida Islands and Koh Phi Phi is also very good but can change over night.
These 2 videos where made on the 13th April at Koh Ha. The first one shows a school of Baby Barracuda which can be found hanging around Koh Ha Lagoon. They have been around for several years and although they never appear to get any bigger they always seem to get stronger in numbers. Sometimes you may view between 100 and 150 ( no I didn’t count them ) circling around you. Even tho they are small they are still impressive to watch.
The next video was taken at Koh Ha Yai on the 2nd dive of the day. There is something still cool about watching Nemo ( Western Clownfish ) as they dart in and out of the Anemone.
Hope you enjoy the smaller things in life!
