No vacation to Koh Lanta then would be complete without trying one of the top Thai cooking schools Koh Lanta has to offer. All the schools are set in different environments and locations but all share the same passion of making cooking Thai food easy to understand and fun.

They all offer an introduction in to the raw ingredients used, then it’s a practical hands-on approach to cook. Final steps then come with showing you how to present the food nicely. When it comes to tasting the dishes you will be proud and marvel at how easy it was and that you could do it. Plus enjoy a feast of your own making!

The cooking schools normally include transfers to and from your resort. If you are a vegetarian that is no problem as many dishes can also be made vegetarian, just let the cooking schools know upon booking . Please note guest availability is limited, booking at least one day ahead is always recommended. If it is high season (December to January) booking two days ahead might be required.

Lanta Thai Cookery School: is based in Khlong Khong Beach, set in tropical gardens under the palm trees. They offer three classes a day with courses running everyday. The morning and afternoon classes are slightly cheaper then the evening one and all courses come with a complimentary cooking book.

Morning Course: 08:30 – 12:30
Afternoon Course: 13:30 – 17:30
Evening Course: 17:30 – 21:30

Time for Lime is a professional open air cooking school located on Khlong Dao Beach – hearing the waves as you cook adds to a very relaxing atmosphere. There is usually one afternoon class per day only, taking the approach of quality classes rather than quantity. In peak season an extra class will also run earlier in the day to cope with demand.

One of the nicest things about Time for Lime is that ALL THE PROFIT goes to the Lanta Animal Welfare, founded by Junie, Time For Lime’s owner, to help distressed animals on Koh Lanta. You can help by simply having fun.

Roi Thai is a famous brand of ready to cook Thai soups. When you go to the Roi Thai cooking school you’re not only going to get a great education but also many Roi Thai extras. The Roi Thai cooking school is located 20 meters away from the beach in Khlong Nin. They offer two classes a day and are open all year.

Lunch Course 11:00 – 14:30
Sunset Course 16:30 – 21:00

Spices and Herbs cooking school is found in the far south of Koh Lanta Kantiang Bay. This school is opposite the Baan Laanta Resort and Spa complex. Spices and Herbs have two classes running daily.

Morning Class: 10:00am – 1:00pm
Afternoon Class: 2:00pm – 5:00pm
